Throat Chakra
The throat chakra is the fifth energy wheel within the main chakra system. This chakra lies within the throat, towards the neck vertebrae. The sense of this chakra is expression.
This wheel of consciousness is known as the purification centre. It regulates your creative energies and also your abilities of self-expression. The throat chakra is your embodied relation to the power of truth. It allows you to pass through life with integrity and accumulate knowledge to aid you along the way. It also helps to communicate on all levels of experience and existence, through languages spoken and unsaid.
This chakra is addresses your inner wisdom. The wisdom within that gives insight into your own truth. Its element is ether, also called “akasha” in Sanskrit.
In terms of energy, ether or ‘space’ is essential because it is the supporting fabric through which all vibrations, including those of sound, travel. The throat chakra is the first of the chakras that explicitly relates to spirituality. Hence, its Sanskrit name, Vishuddha, means ‘very pure’.
